Coordination
The Hawai`i Alliance for Community Based Economic Development (HACBED) provides the overall coordination support for the Ho`owaiwai Network. HACBED is a statewide federally tax-exempt non-profit organization established in 1992 to encourage increased investments in sustainable and community-based approaches to economic development.
HACBED’s mission is to address social, economic and environmental justice in Hawai'i through community-based economic development; and seek to help strengthen the voice and actions of Hawai'i's families and communities so that they have the choice and control they need to become self-sufficient and resilient.
HACBED helps ensure the continuation and coordination of the work of the Ho`owaiwai Network in expanding asset-building practices and policies to more families and communities in Hawai`i.
